[webmin-l] Strange MySQL-related error in Virtualmin

Just got this, haven't seen it before:


Creating MySQL login ..
.. MySQL database failed! : mysql::execute_sql_logged failed : SQL alter 
user 'test2.domain.com'@'localhost' identified by 'l8m896ll370sdED' 
failed : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that 
corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use 
near 'user 'test2.domain.com'@'localhost' identified by 
'l8m896ll370sdED'' at line 1 at ../web-lib-funcs.pl line 1476.


Maybe I should entirely give up on getting this setup working with 
PHP-FPM, Nginx, and MariaDB ... :-)

I'll try downgrading Virtualmin as suggested in this post:
