[webmin-l] problem with mail

I have set up Virtualmin on a new server install.  Everything is working 
fine except mail.  When use MX Toolbox the smtp check fails with

Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I went to do a telnet session to the mail server and it fails with 
connection refused.

I dropped the firewall but still get same connection fail.  I have 
checked all configuration.  I thought Virtualmin was ready to run as far 
as the mail server settings.    I restarted Postfix and Dovecot.
