Hi Grant,
Do you have any socket= or bind= lines in miniserv.conf telling Webmin to listen on a specific IP address? If that IP doesn't exist or cannot be resolved on the new system, you may get this error... so try deleting those lines and starting it again.

Hi Jamie,
I have just tarred /usr/local/webmin-1.320 and /etc/webmin from an online production server to a replacement server running FreeBSD 6.2 and can't start miniserv.pl.
The server is currently at my office where there is no DNS running - simply connected to my router using ip 192.168.1.5
The error in the /var/log/webmin/miniserv.error is this:
"Bad arg length for socket::inet_ntoa, length is 5, should be 4 at /usr/local/webmin-1.320/miniserv.pl line 363
Is this a temporary error, i.e. do you think it will go away when connected to the production env?
I wanted to get webmin running so I can use it to add some perl modules etc.
