Hi Jamie,
Thanks for you aptience in this matter!
I am still not sure where I stand here as you two replies seem to =
contradict each other.
My ISP will not tell me exactly how they delegate, but they are adiment =
that I can/should setup my arpa zones as if they were /24, and only list =
hosts in it that I am using.
In thier verbage to me, they tell me that its works when 'recusive' is =
turned off. and it is, with the exeption of a few IPs (our office, my =
home, and all the local server machines. From what I read below from my =
ISP, it sounds like they 'forward' the /24 lookups to me and whoever =
else has space in that /24.
Under those conditions, should the 'Update Reverse' work? Also, another =
question I am not clear on, should the host numnber already exist in the =
arpa zone? i.e if I have a block 2-126, should there always be 125 =
numbers listed even if they are not being used?
Here is the last verbage I got from the technician at my ISP:

Webmin can do automatic reverse DNS entries in non-class-C zones now =
.. it has been improved a lot since the book was written :-)
If your ISP delegates blocks smaller than a class C and you have to =
use that PTR record trick for your reverse records, Webmin will not =
automatically update them..

Thanks for the reply Jamie.
I was reading in your book about reverse DNS updating not being =
available to non class C blocks. Is this still true?
My ISP does delegate me blocks, usually 126 at a time. when I add a =
forward zone, should my arpa zones be able to be updated?

Hi Grant,
You need to click the Apply Changes button at the bottom of the =
main page in the BIND module after adding zone. In a cluster setup, this =
will restart both the master and slave servers, and so should trigger =
the transfer of both forward and reverse zones..

Hi (again) all,
I *think* I have a grip on what is, and is not happening here. =
ANyt helpo would be aprreciated.
When adding a new zone on the master server, through webmin,
Q: The (FORWARD) zone is added and configured, and the =
named.conf change IS sent to the slave, but, the zone is not being made =
active on the slave. Is this normal?
If not any ideas how to fix?
The reverse zone is not being updated at all on the master =
or slave. (yes, the update reverse is ON by default).
Q: Any ideas how to fix?
When deleting a zone:
The (forward) zone does get deleted from the master and the =
slave.
The reverse does get removed from the master, and the serial =
number is inc'd. The reverse is not done right away on the slave, but I =
suspect the refresh will update it in an hour.
If I add or delete a reverse record and click the apply button, =
it DOES apply to both the Master and Slave.

Hi all,
Not suprisingly, I found that my slave IS indeed being =
updated, howerver, my reverse zones don't appear to be.....stay tuned.

Subject: [webmin-l] Cluster DNS
Hi all,
I have spent a lot of time getting the Bind8 DNS modules to =
work (cluster) on my master and slave server.
THe only question (I think!) that I have now is:
When I add/update/delete a zone on the master server, how to =
configure the master to tell the slave to reconfig or reload the zone?
(The slave named.conf is being updated, but the changes are =
not being made active automaticaly).
