Let's try if I sudo once for a command (let say, dpkg -i webmin_1.290.deb), if I sudo a second time within a short period of time, there's no need to reenter the password again. Also, if I run a script as sudo, the entire script seems to have root access... for exemple, I did a simple scrit that turns off samba, write to a file and restart samba. If I run sudo ./scriptname.sh , it asks for the password, then executes the entire script, including restarting samba, which requires root privileges... I hope this helps. If not, I'll be more than happy to help... -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ Albert Charron +-------------------------------------------------------------+ Linux Counter member #157482 Registered computers: 195048, 164158, 279022, 323762, 328344 +-------------------------------------------------------------+ |
