[webmin-l] mysql module

Development version 1.246 - New CentOS install - mysql-
server-4.1.12-3.RHEL4.1

this probably has to do with my basic unfamiliarity with mysql

service mysqld start

mysqladmin -u root passwd "password"

no problems...I can login as root with the password I've given it.

I cannot log into mysql module on Webmin

I set the administration login and password in the module config but I
still get access denied with the same login stuff at the login screen.

It's all localhost stuff and I tried explicity setting the socket
to /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock but to no avail.

Hints?
