There are two places to do an update for a slave-zone and you probably 
find the wrong one. Please install the the slave-server with all 
settings you need and then go back to the main page of the bind-module 
and restart the bind-service completely.

It would be handy for you if you would open up a console and do a "tail 
-f /path/to/syslog" to actually see if the zone is being taken or not.

I have a Debian Sarge Bind9 installed which has a slave-zone from a 
Windows DNS-Server which is the primary one without any problems.
