New installation of webmin 1.410 via tarball onto AIX 6.1.  Took all the defaults except I installed to /opt/webmin.  When I access the URL and login as admin, there are no modules listed along the left side.  Just he search box, the System Information option, and Logout.  Only error in miniserv.errors refers to Authen::PAM module, which I think is ok. The menu differs from the demo at http://webmin-demo.virtualmin.com/.  I'm sure I'm missing some small configuration, but what?

    Thanks for any help.

virtualmin? what have you done! if you are running virtualmin, you will want to have installed it first, i recall the webmin is then a module of vmin. if you have webmin and then install vmin, vmin will be a module (menuitem of webmin). the menu should not disappear provided that you remain with the default ports.

Thank you for the reply.  My reference to the virtualmin demo site was simply to illustrate what I thought the main menu should appear like.  This site presented a complete set of modules in the left pane, so I thought that's what webmin should look like.  I installed webmin only on a completely new system.  Should I install something else to get it to work?  To present some menus that can actually be used for something?

well, you installed to opt eh? i have noticed the left and right windows seem rather independent. i think that you need frames in your browser. if you shift/ctrl + click a menuitem in the left, you will get a new window with no menu. browser frames. or are you getting the frame but no items?

I just posted about this same issue. Only difference is the versions are 1.430 and AIX 5.3. I also chose /opt/webmin for the install directory.
      Was this ever resolved?

      Thanks Nim
