I have Webmin set up to monitor my other servers by
pinging them every 5 minutes. Sometimes (and a lot
lately), I will get emails like this and when I do a `ps ax',
I see a lot of "ping -c <some IP address>" processes
that I have to kill. The number after "<PS> line" varies.

I also tried having it ping every 15 minutes, but it still
has the same problem. The Linux distro is RedHat 7.3.

Are those hosts that are being pinged up or down? Sometimes when
pinging a host that is down due to a routing error, the ping
    command
    cannot be killed by webmin..

That 'split loop' problem is totally separate I think ..

The hosts are up. In fact, most of the time, they are on the
same private network as the machine in question.
