Where: In Web User Interface - System - Users and Groups
Expected behaviour: the "Edit User" screen should always be displayed after a user name got clicked.
Observed behaviour: after a specific course of actions, user names become unresponsive, i.e. no "Edit User" screen is displayed after clicking on whatever username.
How to reproduce:
- going to the "Users and Groups" screen
- the list of local users appears on screen
- clicking on whatever user name
- the "Edit User" screen appears
- clicking on "Return to users and groups list"
- the "Users and Groups" screen appears
- clicking on the "Local Groups" tab
- the list of local groups appears on screen
- clicking on whatever group name
- the "Edit Group" screen appears
- clicking on "Return to users and groups list"
- the "Users and Groups" screen appears
- clicking on the "Local Users" tab
- clicking on whatever user name
- nothing happens; the "Edit User" screen does not appear
Present workaround:
From last step:
- on the left menu column, clicking on whater menu entry (for instance, "System log")
- a warning popup "Changes you have made may not be saved" appears
- cliking on "Continue"
- the other screen appears (in this example, the "System Logs" screen)
- on the left menu column, clicking back on "Users and Groups"
- the "Users and Groups" screen appears
- clicking on whatever user name
- the "Edit User" screen appears
Environment:
Firefox 70.0.1
Webmin 1.930
I have tried the exact steps on Firefox 70 on Fedora Linux - all seems to work fine. If possible, could you make a video-screencast for me to have a look?
Moreover, could you try to install the latest dev version of the theme (it's stable enough, no worries here) using its configuration page?
How many users do you have in table?
Did you try to disable all of the Firefox extensions/plugins and try again or try in Private Tab? Did you try using Chrome, for example?

Hi Ilia,
I sent you the link to the screencast through the webform you have on your homepage. Please note that the Firefox which I ran the screencast with has no extensions activated.
Opening Webmin from Safari leads to the same results.
Hi,
Thanks for your great video-screencast.
I noticed few other issues with links' margin, that I justed fixed. I also don't understand why do you have circles on the left navigation menu broken and so big?
Speaking about the margin of the second column - it's the Firefox and DataTables bug. (it happens when init run on the hidden table). I will try to work around it.
About the main bug - I can't reproduce it with my latest version of the theme 19.43-RC1 and my MacOS Catalina and Firefox 70.
Could you please:
Before that, could you please open browser's console and see what errors do you have, right before the click stops working??
Okay, doesn't matter. I found the source of this issue.
Thanks for reporting.
I just made a push. Sorry. You are welcome to try now. It will work fine for you, I bet from now on.
I am hopefully making a release tomorrow, so please fine time to give it a try.
I have found the way to fix this ugly UI affecting issue. Applying and testing the fix right now!!
Latest commit has this fix. 19.44 will have a patch for it.
Thanks for reporting/mentioning!! :)
