Failed to save user : Filename contains invalid characters
System username is changed from myuser to myuser1\x00myuser.
The quick work-around for this is to switch to the older Virtualmin Framed Theme. The long-term fix will come in a future Webmin release, once we re-do the UI for that module.
Hi! I'm havin the same issue. The only avialable themes in Webmin are Gray Framed, Old Webmin and Authentic. Where can I get the older Virtualmin Framed? Thanks!
The quick work-around works OK, thanks.
The "Gray Framed Theme" will work fine.
Unfortunately Gray Theme also returns an error:
Failed to save user : Filename contains invalid characters
Tested on Ubuntu Linux 16.04.4.
However, the user name is changed to the requested one, in my case debug-ubuntu5 to debug-ubuntu55.
Odd, it works OK for me. Anyway, I know how to fix this properly and it will happen in a future release.
Can confirm here too. Gray Framed Theme also returns the error.
As a workaround, download the latest Virtual Server Theme and Webmin virtual server package and install them on the server you want to use for making changes.
