If I go to Webmin > Hardware > System Time > Time server sync, enter a server such as "uk.pool.ntp.org" and select "Synchronize on schedule" with a default schedule then click "Sync and Apply" the settings aren't saved and nothing happens. There's a delay of several seconds so perhaps something is timing out.
This is on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS. I had it working before on Ubuntu 14.04 but I can't remember how, sorry. I want to change the schedule to hourly so I don't lock myself out of 2fa. I checked with apt-get that ntp and ntpdate are installed. The timedatectl command does work from the command line.
By the way, I think the menu category should be "System" not "Hardware" especially since I'm running on a VPS and I've changed that in Webmin Configuration > Reassign Modules.
Does any error get logged to
/var/webmin/miniserv.error
when you click the Sync button?Hard to tell because there are 10,000 messages in the log (in just a couple
of days) and timestamps are rare. Here are the messages that happened at
about the same time:

By the way, I get the same problem with the DKIM setting screen - it seemed
to accept the settings the first time I used it but now it ignores all
changes.

I wonder if maybe your browser is caching the old content of the form?

No it's not that, I checked using incognito mode and a different browser.
Both problems (NTP and DKIM settings) are dead easy to reproduce though (I've checked, in case I broke things somehow) - just fire up Ubuntu 16.04 in a VM with default config, run the virtualmin install.sh and post-install config then go to the setting screens in question.
I see the ntp package is deprecated now in Ubuntu, which might have something to do with it.
I've managed to get DKIM working manually by following the Ubuntu tutorial but the setting screen still thinks it's disabled.
At the moment I'm still firefighting all the other things that have been broken by the new OS (mainly apps not working with PHP 7) but I'll investigate a bit more when I can and make some suggestions. The standard postfix config in particular is quite vulnerable out of the box without postscreen and postsrs and some cipher tuning - this time I'm documenting my changes.
One thing you should try is switching the Webmin theme back from the new Authentic theme to the previous default. This can be done at Webmin -> Change Language and Theme, by selecting "Virtualmin framed theme"
Good idea - and it worked for the NTP setting. I'm not sure why the theme
changes the functionality but at least there's a workaround. So should I
raise a new bug on Authentic theme?
It didn't make any difference for the DKIM setting so I guess I should raise
a separate bug for that.
