#3847 Dutch translations absolutely bad.
Dutch (...) translation updates.
Yeah, right..., but certainly not improved. I guess a Chinese guy translates Dutch out of Finnish or whatever?
The Dutch translation used to be bad, but now it sucks right away.
Most header translations in the left panel are wrong.
System? It should be Systeem (watch the second E)
Others? It should be Overig (that's what it used to be and that's correct).
Networking? It should be Netwerken and Network in the 5th option should be Netwerk and protocols in the same option should be protocollen.
Hard disken? (the 4th option under hardware) should be Harde schijven.
Un-used modules? It should be ongebruikte modules (it used to be that and that's correct) and network services should be netwerk services.
IDmapd Deamon should be IDmapd Daemon (so the A and the E must be the other way around)
Refresh should be Verversen.
Log out should be Uitloggen.
In the other panel:
Operating systeem must be Besturingssysteem (it used to be that)
Tijd op systeem is not exactly wrong but it is usually referred to as Systeemtijd
Locale disk ruimte must be Lokale schijfruimte (that's three errors in one term).
Pakketten update's must be Pakketupdates (also three errors in one term).
There are more translation errors but I suggest you correct these ones first and then consult a native Dutch speaker to obtain correct translations.
If you don't have someone to refer to I can probably do it. Please let me know in this thread.
I will ask the author of the Dutch translation to comment on this - because I don't speak Dutch myself, Webmin is dependent on contributed translations.

Ik vind je reactie op zijn minst over de top.
Na 55 jaar spreek en schrijf ik perfect Nederlands en ik ben geen Fin die uit het Chinees naar Nederlands vertaal.
Ik heb de vertalingen in principe alleen gedaan en het zijn vele duizenden woorden in heel veel modules.
Hier ben ik al een paar jaar mee bezig, mede omdat Jamie en Joe het programma regelmatig aanpassen en ik dus naast hetgeen wat vertaald moet worden, iedere keer wanneer zij iets aanpassen in Webmin of Virtualmin dit weer moet herstellen.
Kost veel tijd, geeft niet, maar een typo sluipt er soms bij in.
Daarnaast zitten er ook nog vele Engelse typo's in waar ik Jamie over informeer als ik die tegenkom tijdens het vertalen.
Jouw voorbeeld, (IDmapd Deamon should be IDmapd Daemon) is bijv. iets wat ik met copy&past overneem.
En sja als er dan een typo zit in de Engelse vertaling zit die ook ineens in de Nederlandse vertaling.
Na uren vertalen valt zoiets je niet op, maar dat komt dan later wel weer.
Wat me nu zorgen baart is dat je opmerkt dat in het menu Engelse woorden voorkomen ?
Dit is op mijn systeem niet zo, dus een beetje vreemd?

Snap ik niet bij mij staat dit als "Systeem tijd"

Vind ik discutabel, het kan beide afkorting van "harddisk" -> is "disk", afkorting van "harde schijf" is "schijf"
Dus "disk ruimte" of "schijfruimte" kan beide, heb hier ook geen moeite mee, als jij het zo graag schijfruimte wil noemen
vind ik het best, tis jouw feest.
Waarom in het woord"Locale" nou weer die c staat zal wel weer gekomen zijn omdat ik hier overheen gekeken heb.
Ik loop regelmatig de modules door en verbeter de typo's of de vertaling maar niemand is perfect, en nogmaals na aan aantal uren word je woordblind en zie je soms dit soort dingen niet meer. hoe nauwkeurig je ook werkt.
Getuige het feit dat er zelfs in de Engelse vertaling al heel veel typo's staan, althans de typo's die ik al gemeld heb,
mag het duidelijk zijn dat iets perfect maken erg moeilijk is, zelfs al spreek je de eigen taal.

Please don't take the remark about hte Chinese guy personally. I've read it somewhere and I thought it was a good joke.
That the number of errors has increased is true. I can prove it with screenshots if you like but I don't know how to put them here.
Gandyman1 says he doesn't see some errors, I don't understand that exactly. Just to be sure: I'm talking about development version 1.533. The last stable version contains a lot less errors.
The way you say it is not nice or positive anyway....
You call it errors but this are no errors at all.
It are just new strings with are changed by Jamie and Joe, becouse they update Webmin.
These strings are not translated by me becouse they change a lot, and I am still working on new translations
and correcting typo's in older translations.
This is a lot work, I spend every day 3 to 4 hours on the translations.
Let me explain, I translate the files and send them,
then Jamie and Joe change things in Webmin or Virtualmin.
The send everyone the update.
That moment I for the first time the things with are changed, so I start to translate them and send them for the new release.
The translation always walk 1 step behind.
Something you dont realise is that it are not a few words, it are more or less then 1306888 strings with average off 5 words ?
this make 6534440 words.
Other example, there was a update last week in 1 file with has 5216 lines with 36512 words, there where 127 updates in this file, 16 removed, 18 changed.
An update and walktrue in this file cost me more or less 15 hours, this include improving lang, corrections from typo's etc etc
Wen i am ready i send it to Jamie, but I am not supprised wen he changed a lot things in the next release so it start al over again.
And until the next release people look to strings with are not translated.....
I dont mind this I like to translate, but I dont like it wen people wine aboud little things like typo's, with you also can find in the Englisch lang BTW.
Specially wen this program is free to use.....
