#3577 Improper Core count

It appears that processor core count is being doubled.

I have an intel Pentium single core processor reported as Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 2 cores
I have an intel Xeon X3440 quad core reported as Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3440 @ 2.53GHz, 8 cores

Pentium runs CentOS 5.4 Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-164.9.1.el5xen on i686
Xeon runs Ubuntu Linux 9.10 (server version) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-14-server on x86_64

Not sure what all you need, or if this has even been reported, the filtering seems to be a bit tricky -- that or suckish. I'll check back later to see if additional data is required.

    I'd be interested to see the contents of the /proc/cpuinfo file on those systems, as that is what Webmin reads to get core counts.

    here's the contents of /proc/cpuinfo - don't see a way to attach a file anywhere... I assure you there is only one physical processor in the machine - obviously the cpu count is because there are 8 processors listed here so it appears that the problem goes deeper?

    According to http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42928 , that CPU has 4 cores and can do hyperthreading, making it look like 8 to Linux. So I think the display is actually correct..
