Hi everyone,
yesterday I tried to install the 1.500 webmin deb-package on my system which ended in the message "setting up webmin". The installation task did not finish.
Can you help me? Are there any installation logs which can help to investigate in this behaviour?
Questioning with best regards from Germany

There was a bug that caused installs to take an excessively long time on Debian, which I have fixed now. You can just ctrl-c the dpkg command, re-download webmin 1.500 and try installing again.
Many thanks. The installation worked now.

I am still having a problem with this. Using Linux version 2.6.26-2-ixp4xx (Debian 2.6.26-19lenny2). When running dpkg --install webmin_1.500_all.deb, the process stalls on "Setting up webmin (1.500) ... I have let it sit for over an hour and nothing... not only this, but when I attempt to apt-get any other package, I am kicked back into the "Setting up webmin (1.500) ..." Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Thank you much - C
If you run "top" when this is happening, is Webmin or some other process using up a lot of CPU time?
Hi there!
I'm using the same system as the google accounts buddy and got the same problem. Got it running since 13 hours now and slowly I was thinking the 266MHz can't be the only reason anymore :) then I found these posts.
according to top, the process run-postinstall is the bad one.
Many thanks for your work and help!

Could anyone who is seeing this let me know how much RAM you have?
Thanks for your response! I'm running it on a NSLU2 which regularly has 32mb, as far is I know :)

Yes. 32MB on my NSLU2 with 266Mhz. -- v1.490 worked fine for me as well in the past yet I recently has to do a fresh install, apt-get update/upgrade, and now I no longer have the v1.490 package. When searching for it I keep getting redirected back to the most recent package v1.5. Either way, I'm anxious to get it back on my system. Thanks!
If you have a very low-memory system, the solution I would recommend is :
1) Install Webmin 1.490, with the command apt-get install webmin=1.490
2) Go to System -> Software Packages -> Module Config , and change "Package update system" to "None"
3) Install Webmin 1.500
