#3539 Crash loading any perl module
Any perl module install crashes/fails and goes into endless loop when make can't find gobal cpan mirrors
This renders perl module install in webmin useless.

Now we need to know where your favorite CPAN sites are located. Push
a few sites onto the array (just in case the first on the array won't
work). If you are mirroring CPAN to your local workstation, specify a
file: URL.
First, pick a nearby continent and country (you can pick several of
each, separated by spaces, or none if you just want to keep your
existing selections). Then, you will be presented with a list of URLs
of CPAN mirrors in the countries you selected, along with previously
selected URLs. Select some of those URLs, or just keep the old list.
Finally, you will be prompted for any extra URLs -- file:, ftp:, or
http: -- that host a CPAN mirror.
(1) Africa
(2) Asia
(3) Australasia
(4) Central America
(5) Europe
(6) North America
(7) Oceania
(8) South America
Select your continent (or several nearby continents)
Sorry! since you don't have any existing picks, you must make a

Which perl module are you seeing this for? Webmin's perl installer shouldn't invoke CPAN at all (and so avoids this menu asking for a mirror location), but some perl modules do their own automatic dependency installation using CPAN :-(
I loaded webmin on centos 5, the latest release.
The perl module problem popped up with every module I tried it on, in short I couldn’t load any modules, they were all basic types. This is apparently not a new problem as it was first reported 2009-08-07.

I solved “my” problem by eliminating/uninstalling webmin and going back the
"old fashioned" way of loading and configuring servers. As I see webmin now, it's a little too buggy on this Linux release for my use, though a great program for some.
I will note, I used webmin in the past on some early versions of redhat with great success. I know it's impossible to make it fit everything 100% without these type problems popping up.
