#3511 Doesn't work with latest Safari 4.0+
It appears Safari did something and now they not only presume https:// for webmin is not trustable, they also do not accept cookies from it, so when the REMEMBER LOGIN PERMANENTLY is checked when one logs into webmin, SAFARI ignores it and does not store it into the cookies, thus, it becomes impossible to stay logged into webmin incase you decide to restart the web browser ( safari ).
problem seems to be with the latest safari 4.0 because when firefox is used everything is working okay on the same MAC OS X version.
this is rather important because it's very annoying to re-login over and over again.
Ok .. so this really sounds like a Safari bug? Unless Webmin is doing something wrong that breaks Safari's cookie handling?
I am not certain, but there is nothing about this issue on Google
because this is a new SAFARI 4.0 thing, ( latest safari ).
so, should one downgrade to safari 3.0 or should one
bring this to Webmin's attention so they can take a look at it.
because what if Safari makes this PERMANENT and thus
it no longer becomes a "bug" on safari's end but rather a competibility
issue by Webmin's end.
Yes, it works great on Safari 3.0 and on 4.0 + it doesn't work.
do we contact Apple and tell them to fix it? who will contact Apple?
and will Apple listen to anyone?
so i think it's Webmin's responsibility to come up with a way to make
it work rather than wait and wish for Apple to find a needle in a hasestack.
it is a productivity problem thus it is an important problem.
i am sorry but Safari is a major browser now-a-days, and it can not be
ignored.
i might be the first to report this issue, perhaps because Safari 4.0
just showed up recently, it's only a mater of time someone else debates it.
and even if no-one debates it, perhaps people are ignoring the problem
and just choosing to enter their login information over and over again.
while it might go unreported by those people, it is likely to make webmin
the product feel like a.. "hard to use" product, thus it can damage it's brand name.
i am only being logical here, yes it's true it's a SAFARI BUG, but hey,
they are the kings of the world, we are just slaves, we have to adopt to their ways.

Ok, I will try upgrading Safari and see if I can re-produce this.
Which MacOS X version do you have there though?
