Hi Jamie,

I know this is not a very precise description yet, but when selecting "Just add new files to archive" (without any other chnages) a ftp-backup-job that used to work doesn't anymore. Is this function verified? I run Debian 4 and get the following error:

-<snip>-
tar: user@backup.server.de\:h12345/daily_backup.tar: Cannot read: Bad file descriptor
tar: At beginning of tape, quitting now
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Backup failed!
-<snip>-

Do you need more information?

Bye
George

I looked into this, and found that there is no way an FTP backup can append to an existing archive - the FTP protocol doesn't support the file seeking that the tar command requires. I will add an error message if you try to select this in the next Webmin release though.
