Hi,
Ive just installed Webmin 1.220 and I can see all my
zones and query them etc.
However should I go to add a new zone it puts /BIND/ in
which then causes it to not be able to add the zone
because the folder /BIND/ doesnt exist. Ive checked the
module config and cannot find where it is getting /BIND/
from.
Failed to create master zone : Failed to
open /chroot/named/etc/namedb/BIND/future/xxxdomain.
dns for writing : No such file or directory
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Matthew

You should check the following options on the Module Config
page :
'Directory for master zone files'
'Directory for slave/stub zone files'
Also, in the named.conf file, check the 'directory' line.

Hi,
Checked all those, there is no mention of /BIND/ anywhere
so I have no idea where its coming from.
I can list all the domains no problem. This problem occurs
when I go to add a new master zone.
Many thanks

Ok ..
How about the /etc/sysconfig/named file .. is there any
reference to BIND in there?

That /etc/sysconfig directory is really only used on Redhat
Linux.
Which OS and version are you running there?

Hi,
all the named stuff is in a /chroot/ folder. Its redhat ES4. I do
have the /etc/sysconfig but it has nothing to do with BIND in
it.
Thanks

Another thing you can try - does it make any difference if
you enter a zone filename when create a master like, rather
than using the 'Automatic' option? Something like
/etc/namedb/whatever.com.hosts

Hi,
It works fine if I enter the path manually like you say below.

Would it be possible for you to post the file
/etc/webmin/bind8/config to this bug report? That way I can
see all of your config settings ..
Also, try deleting the file /etc/webmin/bind8/zone-names to
flush any cache Webmin have have.

Hi,
I deleted zone-names but it didnt seem to make any
difference. Is there anyway I can email you the config file
direct?
Many thanks
