Hi. Under the System and Server Status, when an email
is sent out, the format is messed up. looks like this...see
attachment. header gets stuck in body of the message.
this only occurred when I upgraded to latest release

You should try configuring the Read User Mail module to send
out email via an SMTP connection, rather than running a local
sendmail/postfix/qmail program. This can be done by clicking
on the Module Config link..

I can also confirm that composed email seems to get the To:
From: & Subject: headers separated from the Recieved:
headers etc. and the message body.
I'm sure that reconfiguring to use SMTP as suggested is one
solution but surely the underlying bug still exists. Is this
possibly a case of inconsistent CR/LF usage ?

setting in the Read User Mail module on the Module Config
page to control if cr-lf or just lf is added to the end of
each line when sending email - you might want to try
adjusting that.
