My friend and I both have FreeBSD boxes that we just
bought. We loaded webmin on them shortly after we got
them and it ran fine on mine at first, but my friend's box
had a bit of a problem with it. We used ports to install it,
and after he'd installed, Webmin was EXTREMELY
slow. Now, I'm experiencing the same problem. Its
something within the software system that is making it
slow. When I go to start it, it will take about 7 seconds
to finish the ./start command. It takes about 7-8
seconds to bring up any of the pages. I have no clue
what's going on here. Our systems are running FreeBSD
4.8 with the latest stable release of all the sources
compiled.

Try installing the latest version 1.090 from www.webmin.com
instead of the port - it may be out of date. Also, check
your DNS configuration to make sure that reverse address
lookups are not excessively slow.
