In the work to make webERP use some of the html5 goodies I have used a pattern="[a-zA-Z0-9\s]*" - but of course this is a blinkered Englishman's view of the world that prevents valid entries in other languages character sets ... of course I need to update this to something more inclusive!! I would appreciate some technical input from the clever ones amongst you please. Maybe we are best just excluding the characters ' + ? . *Hi, Phil,* Sorry for the late response. Just return back from a business trip and Chinese Mid-Autumn holiday. I'm not sure if the no-illigal-chars pattern is enough? If not, we can modify it to meet your requirements. Thanks and best regards! Hi, Thanks that works with the double quote problem:-) So now we have: pattern="(?!^ +$)[^?\'\u0022+.&\\><]*" However, still need a bit more help though as it is still possible to enter a backslash \ into fields.
