Do you not think there should be an obligation to contribute back any developments. I really just want a right of refusal ie in most circumstances the specifics of a particular business will be such that I would not want to build them in, but at least be given the opportunity to include them if deemed appropriate. This stuff is kind of academic in many respects since you can download it - most folks will with nary a second thought. However, lets make it as easy as possible - I did look at the Apache first version over the weekend I will look at the mk II one. It basically looked like open slather - my only caveat is that I want contributions back - I cant enforce this so maybe open slather would encourage more feedback? The few contributions of code received to date have been much appreciated but I would prefer more - what is the best way to encourage that?
