Warrior Progress 11/17

We're making pretty good progress on the game. Much of the server side has been designed and development has begun.

Design of the client side code is underway. The client will be a bit more complex than the server side and will take a bit longer, but I'm very optimistic that we'll have alpha versions of both client and server by the end of January, possibly sooner.

It wouldn't hurt to get another developer or two, but with the current team, I'm fairly certain we can be at Alpha by the end of January.

Trove Categorization and Cross platform development

I don't find the Trove categorization to easy to follow in certain areas and didn't know how to make it clear what my intentions are, so this is to help clear that up.

I want Warrior, particularly the client, to be Mono compatible with versions for Linux and Mac OS/X. Actually, nothing against Mac, but I'm most concerned with Linux compatibility. I think having a good game compatible with Linux will do a lot to boost support of the project. A bit about Warrior

If you've played SubSpace/Continuum, then you have a very good idea of the basic idea behind Warrior. If you haven't, if you like online action games playing against real people, you might want to give it a shot. Go to http://www.subspacehq.com/ to download the game and see what it's like.

That said, there are a number of limitations to what can be done with SubSpace/Continuum and the development of that game has been stagnant for about 5-6 years now. I and others have fresh ideas. If you have some, join me and help make this game a reality.... read more
