#492 Plug-in: Create a model from piece-wise linear mean trend

"I ran into this while fiddling with Eta Aql means. I wanted to de-trend the values of the filtered plots using the straight line trends between the binned means to then do an ANOVA of residuals and export a file ofresiduals. I see no way to create a model from trend lines between means of series and I think that would be a very useful feature: Piece-wise linear model."

Yes this is a feature that would be very valuable. It can be seen in a paper on TT Ari by Vogt et al. that I ran into when analyzing the recent TT Ari Campaign. This paper ref is:
Astron. Nachr. / AN 999, No. 88, 789 – 794 (2013)
As you can see, this technique would be valuable for pre-whitening data for analysis. I have attached the paper below for your convenience.
