Greetings all, VOCP 0.9.3 has been released. If you are having any types of issues, you should upgrade before reporting problems. Upgrade procedure described at http://www.vocpsystem.com/vocp_upgrade.php Read it, follow it. Even if you do not upgrade, it is recommend that you install the version of Modem::Vgetty included with 0.9.3 (in prog/dependencies/Modem-Vgetty-0.04/) using the standard perl Makefile.PL make=20 make install In addition, if you've had any weirdness with your box configuration be sure to have the latest version of XML::Mini. Do a # perl -MCPAN -e 'install XML::Mini' as root. New features include: * New location of files We've finally moved out of the mgetty-dependent location for config files. They're all in /etc/vocp/ now and vocp.pl has been moved out of there and is with the rest of the executables in /usr/local/vocp/bin/. * New DTMF input algo Big changes in the interaction with vgetty during DTMF input and reflected in vocp.pl * New box attributes A few new box attributes have been added and BoxConf has been updated to reflect the changes. These include: - name Will mainly be useful later but can help you remember which box is which - shows up in the boxconf main interface. - numDigits Multi digit mode is still the same: * XXX# will work at any time.=20 However, single digit input has been replaced with /fixed/ digit input.=20 Defaulting to 1 digit, boxes can now have their numDigits attribute set to some other number and will timeout immediately after receiving that many key presses. One user wished to have a series of boxes numbered according to user initials. Setting the root box to have 2 numDigits allows this. The branch can still be set, for instance to allow a "press 1 for english, 2 for spanish, etc" although there will be a slight delay for users who enter only 1 digit on a box with numDigits set > 1. - restrictFrom/restrictLoginFrom If you have caller ID, you can use these to restrict public access/login access respectively. The values of these attributes are treated as regular expressions, same as for CID filtering. See http://www.vocpsystem.com/callerid_filter.php for details on these regexes. * Fax reception Some users where still having troubles receiving faxes. These should be resolved by installing 0.9.3. * BoxConf command shell fix Command shell edits were wiping out the selections in existing command shell boxes. This has been fixed. Yet to come: - update to the site and docs to reflect changes - VOCPweb interface=20 - possible fixes to txttopvf for some - surprises? Enjoy and let us know if you have any troubles. VOCP AoP patch level 2 is available for download at http://www.vocpsystem.com This release addresses a few issues some were having with faxing and a few other things but the major advance is that, for the first time since 0.5, we are using vgetty's autostop feature. The autostop automatically stops message play when DTMF input is received. The advantage is that bargein is faster, so the caller spends less time waiting and is quickly aware that his/her action has had an effect. It also means there's less chance of having nested command errors with vgetty. The downside to autostop is that multi-digit input is a little harder to catch. So when you want to jump to a box or log in from a location that is expecting single digit input (by using *DDD#), you may need to wait until the message has stopped after pressing * before entering the rest of the digits. Also, the website has been updated. Check out the new call center use page for details on the new icons and how to set up call in progress transfers to VOCP. For those who are having issues of any sort and for those who are simply tired of seeing those filehandle errors in the vocp.log, please get the updated version of Modem::Vgetty available at=20 http://vocpsystem.com/Modem-Vgetty-0.04.tar.gz and=20 perl Makefile.PL; make ; su; make install it. If you are experience problems of any sort, don't hesitate to let us know about it. Enjoy, --=20 Pat Deegan, http://VOCPsystem.com/ http://www.psychogenic.com/ |

Greetings all, This is to let you know that VOCP 0.9.1 has been released. It sports a pretty new Call Center and addresses a couple of bugs and requests. New in the release: - Transfer call in progress to VOCP through the Call Center. If you've answered a call and you decide to send it to the voice messaging system, you can do so using the Call Center (the "telephone off-hook" icon). - New rootbox_DEVICE option in vocp.conf to override the default root box (001) on a per-line basis. See vocp.conf for details. - Incorporation of Dan Rich's fix to boxconf which gets rid of the "xhost +" issue - Got rid of the tempdir overrides - the tempdir is set in vocp.conf or in the VOCP::Vars::Defaults hash and defaults to /tmp and maybe a few other things I've forgotten... The website will be updated this afternoon to reflect the changes - in the meantime, you can head to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3D13121 for all your VOCP downloading needs. Thanks go out to all who provided input, suggestions, bug fixes and complaints. =20 Regards, --=20 Pat Deegan, http://www.psychogenic.com/ PGP: http://www.keyserver.net 0x03F86A50 |
