I am trying to better understand the Technical details of how TightVNC viewer creates and maintains a connection to the TightVNC Server. Specifically, are there any firewall or network configuration changes made by the software to function? I have a new windows workstation that is domain joined on the primary network connection. I am using an OPC Server to communicate to a PLC through a second dedicated ethernet card. When I connect TightVNC through the primary network to the workstation, the OPC Server write speeds increase 10x. Yes, for some reason the write performance improves when I maintain a TightVNC connection to the primary network card. Which is not the one being used by our OPCServer/PLC. As soon as the TightVNC Session is closed, my write performance drops off immediately. I am using TightVNC Viewer version 2.8.59 Thank you |
