After upgraded to 2.8.75 32-bit version, the file transfer not showing anything on the Remote Computer (Server) window. It was working in old version before. This happens to all our Windows 7 workstations.
A message showing: Error: failed to get file list in remote folder '' (see attached pic)
We upgraded on Windows 10 workstations with 64-bit version, and it works fine.
Is there any Windows 7 settings that we need to tweak to make it work?
Thanks.
Hi!
Main change in the filetransfer was that it blocks if the workstation is locked.
Could you send loglevel 9 server log file to support@tightvnc.com ?
The workstation was not locked, I notice in the serverlog showing the "desktop is locked" but its not. This happens to all Windows 7 workstations, but none on Windows 10.
Just want to add I see the same behavior on Windows 7 (64-bit) on version 2.8.78. But the error I see has a slash character (/) in it for the folder, i.e. remote folder '/'. Only if I press Refresh then it becomes ''.
Windows 10 and 11 are fine.

I have just tested with 2.8.78 on Windows 7 (32-bit), still same error. Looks related to the new feature that blocking file transfers while the system is locked, that release on 2.8.75.
I can confirm the file transfer issue on Win 7 64-bit and Windows Server 2008 R2 too
Please test with version 2.8.79 released today, and let us know if it fixes the problem: https://www.tightvnc.com/release-2.8.79.php
thanks Konstantin, its working now as expected. Really appreciated your fix.
Tested with 2.8.79 64-bit on Windows 7. Works as expected now. Thanks.
