Brand new HP 645 G4 with AMD Ryzen Pro 5 2500U w/ Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx.
Uses built in GPU (like with HP 640-G2s with Intel i5 that doesnt display this issue that is being replaced by the above 645 G4).
Running Windows 10 Enterprise 1803 on both 645-G4 and 640-G2s.
The 640-G2 are fine but the 645-G4s AMD laptops blank the remote screen when you close the laptop LID (Yes it is on and I can RDP in). The lid switch setting set to do nothing as it should be on both models.
When a remove or dissable the AMD display driver on the 645-G4s this issue goes away, but unfortunatly this option dissables the extenal HDMI jack on laptop and also the docking station ports. No audio passthorugh or advanced video features.
I need the abilit to natively display video from the AMD GPU with Tight VNC like I can with the intel embedded GPU 640-G2 units (has worked great for a long time). RDP doesn't work as a good solution if I need to change display settings or fix desktop compositionwith very limited functionality by removing AMD driver and using the Windows generic default video driver.
Seems there might be a lid switch setting buried somehwere in the OS or TightVNC settings.
Please help!
TightVNC just shows the same picture as local dislpay unlike RDP.
RDP creates a virtual console session.
TightVNC does not connect to drivers, it works with Windows API only.
I'm not shure the issue can be solved without access to the same hardware.
May be you just disconnect the switch on your laptop?
