Hello Devs,

We've been having a problem where a piece of software we use attempts to delete data whenever we VNC to a machine with that software running. The development team for the software took a look at the problem for us, and reported that VNC is sending a nubmer of KeyUp events when a connection is created. Below is their description fo the KeyUp events they saw.

The detailed info about investigation process is provided below:

We created a sample Form Application to test this case. It shows the keyboard events that it receives in a list box.

When connected through TightVNC, the sample application shows following KeyUp events (please see attached screenshot):

18 - Alt Key
18 - Alt Key
18 - Alt Key
16 - Shift Key
16 - Shift Key
16 - Shift Key
17 - Ctrl Key
17 - Ctrl Key
17 - Ctrl Key
91 - Opening square Bracket [
92 - Back slash \
46 - Delete Key

Note These are all KeyUp events, but there are no KeyDown or KeyPress events, Also this sequence does not change if we connect multiple times and these events are generated when connected and disconnected. The last delete KeyUp event causes the delete message in DF console So this seems to be a TightVNC issue.

They also sent along a screenshot of the events, which should be attached to this ticket.

Could you please take a look at these key events? Are they necessary for VNC?
