#1452 strange interaction with Eudora

When I open or close a connection from a remote, if Eudora is in the foreground, eudora deletes
one message. This seems to be coincident with the connection chatter. It doesn't seem to be
related to the "hide wallpaper" feature, and doesn't involve sending a ^D, which is the keystroke
that would delete a message. It also doesn't seem to depend on what the remote client is, I tried
several.
