Thanks much for the attempt, Martin! The libglade-WARNING and problems 
with the mouse suggest something to try. I may never have mentioned (nor 
documented) that on Linux/Unix, Jonathan Brandmeyer installed some new 
buttons at the top of the window to change to pan mode and some other 
options. These are not present in the Windows version. You might try 
commenting out these widgets. A major place where these widgets show up 
is in display.cpp. Search for "// Glade-based UI."
