Hello VPython community, Maybe somebody can point me toward a solution to our problem: our College has acquired a number of HP EliteBook 2730p Tablet PC's with "Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 Version 2002 Service Pack 3" installed. We want to use the machines to develop and run VPython programs. But I find that some of the objects in visual.controls don't work: for example, the slider. (This was observed with the supplied controlstest.py program as well as a program I wrote.) As a temporary work-around, I found that if I install a virtualization platform such as VMWare Server 1.0.9 or VirtualBox, then build a Win XP Professional VM, and install Python 2.6.2 and VPython-Win-Py2.6-5.12.exe within the VM, VPython including the visual.controls objects (including the sliders) work just fine in the VM. Question: Is there any published patch for Visual 5 which would allow all the controls to work in the Win XP Tablet OS? (Possibly if I have time I'll look into the source code myself...). Thanks! par...@li... |
