Found forcing a full window redraw far from trivial - on desktop change some windows (e.g. Firefox) calculate their internal window layout based on the wrong window size and getting them to recalculate the layout requires several calls to SetWindowPos. Have wrapped this up into a new WindowFullRedraw function.
Fix submitted to CVS and will be in the next release (v4.4)
