Update: The upload seems to be corrupt (it should be smaller) I'll make a new one tomorrow. I've rsynced an image with a 50Gb capacity. I cut libreoffice from the install (you can add it via Software) to save space. For SSD I eliminated the swap partition (recommend at least 1 Gb RAM in the virtual machine) and arranged some tmpfs mounts in fstab.

A virtual machine is a software application which allows you to emulate another computer on your own computer. You can run a guest operating system in the virtual machine (at the same time as your normal operating system) by installing the guest to a disk image and loading the disk image in the virtual machine.
