Hello,
I was trying to configure VirtualGL on a fresh installation of Debian 7 (Wheezy) and I was not able to exec vglrun properly due to a misconfiguration.
I checked all the configuration steps and I found that the "vlgserver_config" script doesn't work properly due to a path change for GDM in Debian 7.
Now in Debian 7, the GDM config is located at "/etc/gdm3" and not in "/etc/gdm".
So everything I did in order to make the script working was to create a symbolic link from "/etc/gdm3" to "/etc/gdm". After doing this, the script stablished the correct "vglgenkey" lines in the "Init/Default" file.
So I think it'd be necesary to add a new line in the "vglserver_config" script with /etc/gdm3 directory.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.
Fix checked into trunk. You'll have to test it for me, since I don't have access to a Debian machine (and it doesn't want to install under VirtualBox for some reason.) If you could also test whether vglserver_config's setting of the device permissions works under Wheezy, that would be great. Disabling/enabling XTEST will not work, since the Xorg command line is not exposed on this platform (and most other modern Linux distros.)
Presumed fixed due to lack of user response. Please re-open the bug if you are still experiencing problems.
