#105 VD not responding, resulting in accessible apps

This can be very damaging: the work done in
applications is lost, because there's no way to show
them (they're on other desktops).

One of the applications that I've learnt to cause this
is Oracle SQLPlus, which always causes VD to become
unresponding.

If you can't prevent it, maybe at least provide a
recovery utility to show hidden applications that were
in other desktops.

I also have the problem, that sometimes VD just doesn't response anymore. But I can't
discover one special app, it mainly happens when switching desktop - but not very often.

But I've just discovered the hiding method "minimize windows". When this is enabled, you can
restore the windows with Process Explorer. I hope this is a way to get the windows back when
VD ?crashes? next time.

I've had this problem - but I've always resolved it by opening task manager and closing an offending program (e.g. Acrobat browser plugin loading a PDF). VD, and the desktop, immediately respond again.

In it's latest "version" (maybe not yet released, though), VD automatically restores hidden windows the next time it is started...

As for VD not responding at all, i never got that. However, it's quite easy to have *very* slow to respond when switching desktop... I have it using Visual Studio at work, for example. Basically if the program VD tries to show is slow to react, then VD will wait a bit.... but it seems to require some tweaking still...

This happens when the application is busy doing something and is not processing the event queue. It's a fundamental design flaw of Windows. When the busy application processes the event queue the VD messages will be processed in the order they were sent. This can lead to flickering between all of the desktops you clicked on to get the thing to respond when it was "hung"...
