No the plugin I'm talking about and signed up for is an eclipse plugin (not a plugin for vim that brings eclipse to vim). I'm aware of the eclim project. The url below is for eclim. I'm talking about "vimplugin-devel". Is there a way to get ECLIM to install on MyEclipse? It will only install on Ecliplse right now. Sounds like you've mis-understood this plugin at a fundamental level. Hi, Currently, none of us developers are actively working on this project. I saw some others mailing to this list with their problems, but none of them got any solutions. I think everybody is busy with some other projects/personal work. Sorry, I don't have eclipse + vimplugin installed on my comp to check your problem. But that functionality should not be broken as we just pass those "parameters text" to vim executable directly. If you have java coding knowledge and interest, try to figure out the solution for yourself (nothing to afraid, the code was written in very understandable fashion). It would be great if you post patch of your work here on this list. Thanks Nageswara Rao M. Using eclipse verion 3.4.2 on Ubuntu 9.4 with vim 7.2 I can't get anything under "Additional Parameters"(under preferences) to work. I started with -U ~/.vimpluginrc but when that didn't work I tried +5 to see if I would start on line 5 and -c "echo hello" and neither of those parameters did anything either. |

Hi, Since I found the embedded mode is buggy (the embedded gvim is easy to crash), so I decided to try non-embedded mode. But this time, the problems are even more: 1. It won't look at my "-U e:\woody\.vimpluginrc" parameters as that in embedded mode. So I lost chance to put a 'set noswf' in the startup script. 2. In about half cases, the gvim was launched with empty, no file contents was loaded. I was here wondering that is there anyone use vimplugin in practice? Thanks if you can help. -- narke |

I installed eclipse-SDK-3.4.2-win32.zip on Vista this morning. This time, I read the installation instructions a little more carefully and associated *.py with Vim. Regardless of whether I embed Vim or not, I get the following error. If it's not embedded, I briefly see gvim flicker into existence, then disappear. java.lang.ClassCastException: org.eclipse.ui.ide.FileStoreEditorInput cannot be cast to org.eclipse.ui.IFileEditorInput Does Vimplugin work on OS X? I installed eclipse-SDK-3.4.2-macosx-carbon.tar.gz, the Aptana plugin, and the Vim plugin. Aptana is working fine. The Vim plugin shows up in the Preferences. I configured the path to gvim as /Applications/MacVim.app/Contents/MacOS/Vim and left the Port, Host, and Password parameters at their defaults. I tried enabling and disabling Embedding, but neither had any apparent effect. -- /George V. Reilly ge...@re... http://www.georgevreilly.com/blog http://blogs.cozi.com/tech |
