Intuited - 2010-04-11

This would be great! It would be awesome to be able to search, get info on, download, install, and vote for vim scripts directly from the command line. This would also provide a way to mirror the archive from other sites. There's a trend towards keeping vimscripts on github (and perhaps other repositories).

An API would be a great way to enable people to fork derelict scripts: they could be pulled onto some interactive repository and checked periodically for updates, which could then be merged in. It's possible to do this currently but it's pretty awkward and involves copy-pasting the description or doing a screen scrape.

It would be particularly useful to have a download option to get the script in a specific format, eg tar.gz or vba.
