Sometimes clicks in the dial tone or a distorted dial tone can be heard in the analog phone. This can be induced by running the GUI (on r203). The clicks sound a little like static. They don't seem to be present on the audio when a call is made to another SIP device, but return in the dial tone after the call is completed. Touching the PCB in the areas of the uC crystal can also induce the problem. This could be a sensitivity of the tone playing code in the channel driver to audio buffer under or overflows. It's worth testing if an Asterisk re-start of channel driver reload fixes the problem.

update: - clicks start spontaneously after MP01 #36 left on for 24 hours. Not present on other MP. Can also hear them on a call e.g. dialing echo ext 4001, but not as obvious as with a continuous tone.

From VoIP experience, it sounds like a problem with underflow in a sound driver.
How do you clock a thread which sends audio to the output?

And do you set realtime priority to this tread?
