Sorry, but I'm not sure to understand your arguments. I not propose to everybody learn Git. I simply argue that the web service hosting the Viking's mirror (powered by Git) also offers a RSS/Atom feed. So, people can register this feed in their favorite news reader and keep informed about what happens on the repo. But, it seems that 100% of the packaging force requested a mailing-list interface. In order to avoid re-registration process, I'm agree to use the existing -devel list.
