You could find the answer in the ChangeLog (which is
maintained quite well lately). The pattern I found was that
it was normally quiet most of the time until someone found
time to work on viking. Even then, it was likely no more than
one or two commits a day. Some commits were quite big and
some were quite small and most were anything in between.
