Viking 1.6 (current version from Ubuntu repo) crashes randomly when tried to split or rename a GPX track. (Not sure if it's important, but I have around 50 tracks loaded to a TrackWaypoint layer).

I can't reproduce this failure on my Ubuntu machine (16.04 LTS).

However the version on Ubuntu (and Debian) is quite old and they should update to the latest version 1.6.2 which contain various bug fixes.

Are you suggesting 'randomly' means it does not always crash if one repeats the same sequence of steps, thus I suspect it's an issue with the redrawing - which has had improvements in 1.6.1.

Otherwise please provide your steps to make it fail (and possibly the track logs).

Other options include reverting back to 1.5.1 or building from the latest souce code.

I have three Ubuntu 16.04 LTS machines. It only works fine on one of them. on the other two is crashing pretty much I want to split the track or do any other operation. It's not about the tracks as it also happens to a simple gpx files (they look like either simplified or drawn by hand) downloaded from the internet. Perhaps I can send you viking logs somehow, but now exactly sure what to send to you.

You may want to try my PPA version of v1.6.1 if possible:

I think it was something with the viking settings. I deleted .viking and .viking-maps folder in my home catalog and all seems fine since then. Tested on two computers which I had problems with previously. You can close the bug. Thanks again.
