Lorenz TestSuite: fix "brkn" test for Plus/4 and C16

PS: this patch is for the Lorenz TestSuite in the testprogs repo

- Fix "brkn" test for Plus/4 and C16
 - The new macros reduce code duplication and can later be rolled out to (all) other tests in suite (separate commit/patch)
 - Trim trailing spaces
