Hi!

Maybe keypads (Coplin, Cardco, Atari CX85, Atari CX21, Rushware) looking for Commodore 128 not usable, but I'm 128er and many times wanted to add some keys to my keyboard.
Currently I'm deciding between two to buy one. Why?
Missing keys - for example Num× Num÷ and Home, End, Roll Down, Roll Up, Underline, Flash, Insert, Quote hotkeys I placed to Fn keys F1-F8. But here's problem - function keys are for C128 more than for C64 and are programmable easier... and usable.
Why I want keypad?
I want to leave keypad functions - Numeric Block and remap C128 Numeric Block to function written above... And even - in C64 mode will be keypad available too... fnally - also free F1-F8, hm?
Why to disallow this possibility for C128 user?
Please give keypads back and I mean I'm not only one who use it.

Thank you.

Your host keyboard has only one keypad. It can control only one emulated keypad. It already is controling the C128's built-in keypad. There is nothing available to control an emulated extra keypad. That is why they were removed from x128 (there is no point in emulating something that we cannot use).

    Ok, now it looks differently.
    But look at this side:
Keys from keypad going through Control Port - so I can compare keypad presed key with normal key.
It was important help from you and now I will let C128 keypad untouched and map keypad to custom add-on keys.
My PC uses keyboard and keypad too - mapped by me and always know from which keypress came...
    Ok, Q:
If I do programming keypad correctly, will you add it to x128?
Of course, I provide you sources.

Thank you for help and answer to Q above.

After the release of VICE 3.0 I'll see what I can do to add a dialog so keys for the (extra) keypad can be set in the gui, and then I'll re-enable the (extra) keypads for the machines that already have a keypad.

Marco, VICE 3.0 released - if you can please try to add keypads to x128 and others with numpad.
I want to write also - very useful was option "Dump keyset" in keyboard dialog.
In dump were visible changes to key mapping and it's handy... please try to give it back.
