Hey there, I thought I'd add this to FR because I want to keep the Bugs section clean from this stuff...

Does anyone of you team members, be they active or retired, where Daniel Sladic is now and how to get an e-mail to him?

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dsladic/vice/ denotes that VICE official page has moved. (even though the ...bei.t-online... domain is obsolete was well)
But that is not even the actual problem.

The actual problem is the VICE documentation which he is still hosting on his CMU account and which dates back FOURTEEN (!!) years now:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dsladic/vice/doc/html/vice_toc.html

Now it is a matter of fact that this site (probably due to its high age) has got a ridiculously high Google ranking. Still.
And whenever I try to use my phone and search for some VICE doc details, I might stumble on Daniel's site!! Because the official one might be listed way later.

Here's a full-text search test case:

http://www.google.com/search?&source=hp&biw=&bih=&q=%22writing+an+appropriate+shell-like+pattern+in+the+directory+box%22+vice&btnG=Google+Search&gbv=1

Get my point?
NADA. Nothing about vice-emu.sf.net.
You have to click on "repeat search with omitted results included" to see the current docs @ vice-emu.sf.net.
But Daniel's 14-year-old docs appear (in 90% of cases) on the very top.

So my plead is:
Tell Daniel (if possible somehow) to either update his docs even on his CMU account or remove it so that they disappear from Google for good. Otherwise, your current docs will never be ranked higher and fall into oblivion in Google's search results.

Otherwise, this may even lead to users having done a Google quick search to ask stupid questions even to you guys because they relied upon a totally outdated manual. But as I've shown in my testcase, there are good reasons why they cannot find the current one: because Google hides it away behind its "omitted results".

Thanks for reading.:)

clicked on your search link and actually the sourceforge page is the first hit - so the problem solved itself now perhaps :)

that said, we dont know how to contact him either, and we cant do anything about other peoples websites.....
