#718 6567r56a VIC-II behavior (C64 NTSC old profile)

In the Beastie Boys intro from 12/88 (http://csdb.dk/release/download.php?id=119657) using the model profile "C64 old NTSC" most of the screen has a white background and the logo is shown. On real 6567R56A chip-based hardware, it is black and the main logo never shows. This is because of the "bug" of 64 cycles/line instead of 65, but is of note because what is shown on the screen is different vs. the real thing. The same behavior occurs with x64sc.

i doubt this is because of 64 vs 65 cycles VIC.... there is no raster irq or anything like that to seperate logo from the rest for that matter (its all in a single charset) - looks more like a kernal issue to me (use rev3 kernal with ntscold and it will be black too)

would be interesting to know what really causes the difference :)

Good point- I will also test with v1/v3 kernal on a real machine.

The original reporter now says it's not VIC-II chip-related, so this may not be an accurate bug. Sorry to report. Here is the forum thread. I will try this on my personal machines this evening.

This bug is verified not to be valid. The original reporter has another problem with the hardware unrelated to VICE.
