In previous version of GTK/SDL vice when starting any of the emulators when using REAL devices hooked up to ZoomFloppy, the IEC would initialize on startup.

In 3.4, this step seems to be missing resulting in crashes or lockups.

If you change the drive from a virtual device to a REAL device with the UI, the IEC seems to be initialized there as well.

Obviously this causes problems if you save your settings and then open another session.

Using v3.3 and previous does not have this problem.

Note: I have only tested this on Windows 10

can you please test it on a current build?

also, i dont quite understand the problem.... does it initialize once you changed the config to what it should be (ie "real device")?

check https://github.com/VICE-Team/svn-mirror/releases/tag/r43558 - this should work on windows as well now
