If I use keyboard as controller (numpad), if I keep pressed a direction for a few seconds, it STICKS to that direction. If I press some other direction briefly, it follows, but then goes buck to stuck direction.
The only way to unstuck it, is to press briefly the same direction.
Example:
Press numpad "4" (controller left) for 3 seconds.
Controller sticks going left.
Press "8" for a second (controller up).
Controller goes up for a second, then goes left by itself.
Press "4" briefly.
Controller unstucks and centers itself.
It is possibly related to button auto-repeat.
Possibly on all builds of all machines.
Haven't tested with real joystick (will try in a few days).
i cant reproduce this here
Build I use is GTK3 36175.
Tested on two separate computers (both Win 10 x64).
I verified it only does it with controller set as "Numpad".
If I set to a keyset (I tested with cursor keys and with WASD), they don't stick.
Also found an extra bug!
If I define a keyset for controller, the numpad keys 7 8 5 1 2 3 / + .(comma or full stop, depending on locale) all produce "NUM_LOCK"! (9 4 6 are detected ok as NUM_9 etc.)
BUT setting to "Numpad" the buttons are detected properly!
This bug is still present in 37020 (and in between).
As I said the problem is present with controller setting as "numpad".
Is it possible it is related to repeat buffering?
just tried on windows 10 - works fine for me.
please tell exactly what you are doing, starting from a fresh config (use -default or "reset settings" in the menu first). also please use x64sc first, then try the other emulators.
repeating the request :)
I cannot reproduce any of this on Windows 11 with current trunk, and since we haven't had feedback since 2019, I'm closing this.
