In ViceSC ReSID audio filtering does not work
I tried the introduction of that game with the VICESC GTK3 (WIN) ver 3.3, the audio with the filter emulation activated works very badly.
In fact, this Resid has a problem with the emulation of the active filter.
Does anyone know how to solve the ReSID audio (filter emulation) problem?
are you mixing up virtualC64 and VICE somehow?
please elaborate how exactly you configured x64sc (start with default config) and tell how it sounds "weird" compared to what.
1) try that game (defend1.d64).
2) use vicesc standard config
3) listen the intro with resid filter emulation on
4) listen the inteo without filter emulation
it seems that filter emulation doesn't work. the music with filter on is bad, just lusten it.
(vicesc.exe 64bit version 3.3)
THE SAME WITH MANY OTHER GAMES
i am asking because:
- all filter issues i am aware of are related to the new 8580 filters. the 6581 filters were not changed for a long time and are considered OK
- i listened to the tune with 6581 and filters and it sounds normal to me
judging from your last post, it seems you are not switching to 6581 - which means you play it with 8580. then it will sound wrong, because the tune is made for a 6581 :)
